Family, friends, and friendly folks I've met along the way all have asked me - aren't you scared? Aren't you scared of being alone? Aren't you scared of a predator or sicko "getting you?" Aren't you scared of spiders and bears? Aren't you scared of rain? Aren't you scared of lightning and tornadoes? Aren't you scared of biking up mountains? Aren't you scared of descending your front wheel popping off? Sure, I'm absolutely paralyzed by all of things. But I tell them all the same thing - whether I'm biking 50 miles a day around my home or 50 miles a day on a tour the risk is the same. And, if I allowed that fear to get the better of and debilitate me I'd probably have some job where I sit at a desk and commute to and from work in my car and maybe stop at the gym and grocery store on the way home and then spend my night sifting through my Netflix suggestions. And then people would ask: Aren't you scared of getting hit by a car when you walk through the parking lot? Aren't you scared of sleeping through your alarm clock and getting fired? Aren't you scared of getting your shoelace caught in the treadmill? Aren't you scared of slipping on a wet floor at the grocery store and cracking your head open? Aren't you scared of choking on an overlooked bone in a chicken nugget? Aren't you scared that Netflix won't know what is right for you? Yes, I'm absolutely terrified.
This is a great song! Demi you're a poet.
